Your location

will set the tone and backdrop of your shoot and will ultimately reflect how your photos feel.


Some things to consider:


  • Where are you most comfortable?
  • Where feels most like you?
  • Do you have a special place that you like to visit?
  • What do you want to wear? Will it match your location?
  • Time of year / day? How busy will it be?
  • Hayfeversufferer? Maybe avoid the woodland areas.
  • Hate sand in your toes? Don't opt for the beach.


Below are some of my favourite types of locations and shoots?

The beach

Not just for summer evenings.

It can work great in winter with cosy coats and scarves.


Location - Cromer Beach, Norfolk

The beach is perfect for bringing the dogs along, plenty of space to run around.


Location - Holme-next-the-sea, Norfolk

A couple are sat in the woods, toasting marshmallows and making hot chocolate drinks.

PIcnic date

Create your own little date / activity - they make great photos and are a perfect distraction if you are nervous.

National trust parks

beautiful open spaces - always check on their website, as some do not allow professional photography or only allow photography in certain areas.

Days and times to avoid

I would advise avoiding bank holidays and peak dates as it will be very busy. I try to only do shoots at these locations midweek where possible.

Your wedding venue


Depending on if they allow it, having your shoot at your wedding venue can be super cute. Whether it's before or after your wedding day, this is a beautiful way to celebrate.
