I arrived at Oxnead Hall in Norfolk at 11am and Jess's prep was underway with the very talented Norfolk Makeup Artist and assisting her was Callie King Street Hair Co. She had a lovely calm room with just her mum, her sister and sister in law to be. There was just a lovely chilled atmosphere which set the tone for the day.
Her mum helped her into her dress in time for a first look with dad.
Jess and Sam had booked my package including a second shooter so Chloe was with Sam capturing his preparations. He was getting ready at the venue too, across the other side in Hall Cottage. He was with his best man and groomsmen, his parents.
Jess's dress was from Pure Brides, a satin floor length gown with a fully buttoned down back and train. A boned bodice and a cowl neck line, with off the shoulder straps. Her beautiful veil was embellished with tiny pearls. Jess wore jewellery from The Jewellery Cottage.
Sam's suit was from Moss Bros. Their bouquet and pocket squares were created by Fern Flowers. Jess's bouquet was made up of delphinium, astilbe, lisianthus, bombastic spray roses and finished with autumnal foliage and snap dragons.
They had planned an outdoor ceremony in the fountain garden. The weather was on everyone's side and we were blessed with a wonderfully dry, calm and sunny autumn day.
Sam's mum walked him down the aisle to where he waited for his bride. We heard gasps from their guests as they caught sight of Jess walking down the gravelled pathways of the manicured gardens. The fountain in the background was the perfect backdrop as they took their vowels.
Oxnead Hall allows petal confetti only - Jess and Sam chose pink and red dried flowers. They walked from the wall arch through the gardens with their guests lining the pathway. Perfect autumnal confetti moments.
The reception barn was so beautifully decorated. Their flowers from the ceremony space were repurposed and displayed in front of the top table. Three long tressle tables dressed with crisp white linen, autumnal orange runners and bud vases with single stem flowers, dressed by Fern Flowers.
The ceiling was draped with white fairy lights provided by Epic Event Hire.
Jess and Sam had plenty of time after their ceremony for mingling with their guests. They kept their formal group shots to a minimum so we got those ticked off pretty quick which left them over an hour and a half to chat to their loved ones, eat canapés and have a drink. I love it when couples plan a nice chunk of time to be free as it means I can just candidly snap away and document the joy.
I didn't want to keep them away from their guests for too long so as everyone started to go in to be seated we sneaked off for 10 minutes to grab a few couples portraits. We kept things easy and chilled with Jess and Sam just walking through the gardens and chatting. It's so important for them to have a few moment to themselves and take it all in.
I never hide the fact I bloody LOVE speeches. Everything about them. The emotions and laughter they create make for beautiful moments to be savoured and I am here for it.
Jess and Sam planned a wonderfully fun evening with a photo booth, sparklers and lots of dancing to the amazing sound of The Joe Ringer Band. Their stunning heart shaped cake was made by The Virgo Bakery.
