I received an email from Sharron and Terry's daughter, Ashlie in December 2023, telling me all about her parents. They had been together for 35 years and were finally getting married.
After a few years of health scares in the family and their eldest two children, now all grown up, engaged and wedding planning, it kick started their own desire to finally tie the knot. This filled me with absolute joy.
And they were planning it within 8 weeks of their day!
We arranged a video call and Sharron and her daughters all appeared and I instantly knew we would make a great team. Such a wholesome and down to earth family. We arranged for me to spend an hour with them to cover the ceremony and some formal group shots afterwards.
On the day, I met Sharron and her daughters outside Norwich Castle and was there when she greeted her Dad and for Courtney to present her mum with a beautiful pearl bracelet.
I then headed inside to meet Terry who was waiting with his best man, Barry.
And you may wonder if after 35 years if a groom to be would still be nervous?
Barry did a great job of keeping Terry calm and making him laugh.
Sharron wore a beautiful white jumpsuit from Adrianna Papell, with lace detailing on the top.
Jasmine and Ashlie wore peach dresses from Boohoo.
Their children did 2 joint readings during the ceremony. Both reflected them as a family so perfectly, with so much humour and Sharron and Terry looked so proud of their three.
The registrar was amazing and as Terry had been left with some speech difficulties after a stroke 10 years ago, she really took her time to help and support him through his vows. The look of relief on his face when he completed them was just joyful. A really emotional ceremony!
Outside for a few formal group shots with their lovely guests, who were all their closest of friends and family.
The February afternoon weather was so kind to us.
We did the confetti a little differently than I usually do. Everyone lined up for a large group shot and on the count of 3 everyone threw a handful up in the air. So everyone was covered in it, which made some great reaction shots.
An absolutely wholesome and love filled couple of hours with this family.
I left them all as they went off to a restaurant to enjoy an afternoon together and celebrate the rest of their day.
Thank you so much Sharron, Terry, Ashlie, Jasmine and Courtney for trusting me and treating me like one of your close friends on the day.
Congratulations to the new [and long awaited] Mr and Mrs Cox.
